Well, the first time I listened to this album I thought it was yet another dull "unplugged" album but I was dead wrong. This is one of the best laid back and most beautiful albums I've heard for a long time.

Challenge are basically a two piece outfit, Allison Lindsay/vocals and Arno Verstappen/guitars who completed Acoustic Universe with some additional musicians. I've seen a couple of other reviews and everyone seems to like the strong voice of Allison and Arno's beautiful guitar playing as much as I do. But I would like to point out that they've also picked the right guys to complete the line up for this recording, every note is right where it should be resulting in a great "groovy" feeling.

In my opinion "When Love Finds A Fool" is the best track on the album but it's not that easy to point out a single song. "Don't Look Back" might be my favorite track tomorrow.

If it's hard to point out the best it's definitely impossible to pick a bad one as there's no such thing to be found on Acoustic Universe. If I have to say something negative it might be the acoustic sound after all, Allison's voice is so strong that at some points the music tends to disappear behind her excellent vocals.

I would like to call Challenge's music - wonderful aggressive rock in a laid back style or something like that. They manage to keep the agressive rock feeling but present the songs in an acoustic way and I'm not sure that I've ever heard someone that has gotten all the pieces together this perfect. Don't miss this album, essential!

Right now they're working on a new album which will be "electric".
I can't wait to hear that! /Thomas
