Originally from Holland, Arno came to Los Angeles to study at
GIT (Guitar Institute of Technology).
After graduation, he stayed in town to form a band and Allison
had the voice for the job.

Interview with Challenge....
Q1 At first, what's the story behind
you start as Challenge?
Allison: Since I'm very
influenced by American singers I really wanted to
form a band with someone who came from a European background.
I felt this
diversity would make for a unique sound. Considering the great
response we
have received, it seems that we are on the right track.
Q2 Please talk about artists or album what you
were had great impact on personal musical background.
Arno: Being from Holland,
fellow countryman Golden Earring & Adrian
Vandenberg were big influences and helped to inspire my playing
and
especially my writing. I could see these bands play in my hometown
on a
regular basis unlike some of my favorite English and American
bands.
Allison: My influences came
from soulful dynamic singers of bands like
Journey & Queensryche. In general, we both like to listen
to musicians and
songwriters who are very melodic.
Q3 Please let us know how feeling of Next Album
to be issued this year later .
Arno: We are about half
way done with the next album and so far it's
coming along great. In general it's a harder more electric sound
but still
very melodic. We expect that this album will generate even more
interest
in Challenge.
Q4 Are you planning to take Challenge's activities
as duo form?
Arno: We are playing a lot
of acoustic coffee house gigs as a duo. As for
the clubs, that is usually with a full band. After releasing our
next
album we will probably tour with a full band because the new songs
really
call for a heavy backbone.
Q5 At last ,could you give any message to Melodic
HR fans ?
Allison: The independent
melodic rock scene has definitely arrived with
the help of all these great webzines. It looks like we're in for
some good
tunes to ring in the new millenium.
